There is no question that when we start a room’s design with the artwork it informs the room’s tempo; the room’s ethos in fact. It is a good thing to try and let the artwork speak to you, as it asks you to contemplate. You don’t need to “know what it is.” You don’t need to pronounce it good or bad. What you MUST do is allow yourself to feel the work and see if it can take you somewhere - anywhere.
